The 2021 opening ceremony for incoming first-year students of the Faculty of Economics and Management was held on September 2nd. In total, 1,708 undergraduate and graduate first-year students from all over the country and around the world started their new journey with great joy.

Lian Ping, Honorary Director of the Faculty, gave a keynote speech titled, Prudently Advance Capital and Open Financial Accounts. Director Lian analyzed the importance of capital and financial account opening to the expansion and deepening of China’s opening-up and emphasized the need to rationally understand the risks of capital and financial account opening.

Yuan Zhigang, Director of the Academic Committee of the Faculty, gave a speech to the first-year students on Global Economic Dilemmas and New Drivers of China's Economic Growth. Director Yuan analyzed the short-term phenomena and long-term trends of the global economy and proposed that China needs to carry out structural reforms to achieve the transformation of economic growth drivers.
Opening Ceremony
The ceremony was set up a main venue and 10 branch venues. It was held both online and offline simultaneously and integrated interaction between the main and branch venues.
The Faculty of Economics and Management actively carried out first-year orientation, giving full play to the power of professional teachers in ideological guidance and the pursuit of excellence and effectively guiding the first-year students to integrate into campus life.
